Maintenance Interval Schedule
Every 500 service hours or three months is the standard oil change period. If the engine is used in harsh conditions or the oil is not Caterpillar oil, replace the oil every 250 service hours or once a month. Heavy temperatures, constant high loads, and very dusty environments are examples of severe circumstances.
Refer to the SOS oil analysis findings to see if the oil change interval should be reduced to 250 hours.Consult your Caterpillar Dealer for detailed information regarding the optimum oil change interval
Note: Some machines are equipped with engines that require the engine valve lash to be checked every 1000 service hours or 6 months. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Valve Lash - Check" for further information
